Dr. Jan Behrendt Ibsø, Market Director, SGS Industrial Services

“In order to meet our existing and new customers; wind turbine manufacturers, wind farm owners, insurance and investors in this market, we have decided to strengthen the SGS Wind Energy Services with our main office located in Hamburg, Germany, the largest wind energy market in the world in terms of accumulated, installed wind power capacity”, says Market Director, SGS Industrial Services, Jan Behrendt Ibsø.

SGS also has local offices dedicated to and supporting the wind energy activities in Sweden, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, United Kingdom, the U.S., India, China and Taiwan.

Ibsø says “The EWEA (European Wind Energy Association) has recently increased its expectations to the European wind industry market alone for 2010 to cumulative 75,000 MW of which at least 10,000 MW will come from offshore wind farms.

The corresponding numbers at the end of 2004 are approximately 36,000 MW of which 560 MW is offshore. This means that by 2010 more than 86 million Europeans will get their power from the wind.

SGS Wind Energy will attend this years Copenhagen Offshore Wind exhibition to promote the new services to the power industry. We are hereby pleased to invite you to visit us at our Stand A-024 at the Offshore Wind Conference, Copenhagen, 26 - 28 October, 2005.

For this event, Jan Behrendt Ibsø was invited to become the moderator of the conference session “Offshore Technology” by the organisers, the Danish Wind Industry Association.
