Invitation to Press Conference

Hurricanes and Offshore Wind Farms - Incompatible?

Germanischer Lloyd WindEnergie (GL Wind) will be presenting its latest guideline on the technical requirements for durable offshore wind power installations and is pleased to invite you to its press conference on

Thursday, October 27th at 10:30 in room 16.

GL Wind has published a comprehensive codebook for the certification of offshore wind turbines. The guideline incorporates all scientific findings gathered through years spent in the certification of offshore installations, international standardization and diverse research projects. Whether an offshore wind turbine will be able to withstand a hurricane is a question depending on a thorough project certification.

A site assessment involving all environmental conditions, which could add additional stress upon the turbine is a prerequisite for the proper design and construction of reliable offshore wind turbines.

Speakers

Bodo Helm, Managing Director GL Wind

Peter Dalhoff, Head of Certification Off- and Onshore Projects, GL Wind

We also look forward to welcoming you at our exhibition stand A-021A Hall A.
